What you take away

• A trade-off has four parts: the choice, what it gives up, the requirement that makes that acceptable, and what would change your mind.
• Naming a technology is not a decision; naming what the decision costs is.
• Budget 5 / 15 / 20 / 5 in 45 minutes and say the budget out loud, so falling behind is visible early.
• When time runs short, cut breadth and announce it — never cut requirements or the wrap-up.
